| Lena and her sister, Ella, were found walking together down a street in Miami, the day after Katrina blew through. The owners were found and contacted but they did not want these precious girls back. The good people who found these girls said they were extremely thin. These folks fell in love with the girls but already have quite a few dogs and could not keep them. |

 | Lena is a little girl, weighing about 14 lbs and 12 inches tall (top of shoulder). She is quite dainty, we think she may want to grow up to be a ballerina! Or maybe a model... You can view a short video of Lena and her sister running in the yard here.
Lena is a daring little girl. Here she is with Buddy, another beagle who has told Lena in no uncertain terms (via showing all his teeth) that he does not want Lena in his face. What does she do??? Well.... Here she is still trying to convince Buddy to like her...

 | Lena can be adopted without her sister. They are bonded but if they have to be separated they will. It would be nice if Lena could go to a home that has another dog she can play with because she is so acustomed to that rough and tumble kind of playing that dogs do. Lena likes to play in the yard and has no problem 'digging' up stuff to do! These girls do rest, as puppies do. But then they are ready to explore once again. |
