Ella

Adopted with her sister Lena

Ella is a young pup (born in April) who will wag her tail into your heart before your next blink.

Ella and her sister, Lena, were found walking together down a street in Miami, the day after Katrina blew through. The owners were found and contacted but they did not want these precious girls back.

The good people who found these girls said they were extremely thin. These folks fell in love with the girls but already have quite a few dogs and could not keep them.

Ella is a little girl, weighing about 17 18 lbs. Ella is the more sensitive of the two, if another dog growls at her, her feelings are quite hurt. Ella LOVES toys and running and playing. She enjoys recultivating the land (aka digging) and speaking her mind.

You can view a short video of Ella and Lena running in the yard here.

There is another short video of Ella proudly carrying a toy she found here (it is rather dark but you can't miss that happy, wagging tail!)

Ella can be adopted without her sister. They are bonded but if they have to be separated they will. It would be nice if Ella could go to a home that has another dog she can play with because she is so acustomed to that rough and tumble kind of playing that dogs do. Also, Ella is a bit dependent on Lena, she seeks Lena out, so that is another reason it would be nice for Ella to have a canine companion.
These girls do rest, as puppies will. But then they are ready to explore or chase a squirrel, once again.

Ella learned 'sit' in two days! She has mastered the doggie door, too.
