Beagle Info

Hi, I am Lizzie. I come from a shelter in Ohio.

I feel very lucky to be at Ziggy Beagle Rescue!

Florida is FUN!

They told me that someday, soon, I am going to have my very own home, where someone will play with me and I can be loved! Is this exciting or what!

I have to go to a home with a wooden fence, I climb chainlink fences! I do it so fast that no one has been able to get the camera and take a picture, yet.

ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM... that's me!

I enjoy playing with other dogs, large or small, I don't care!
What I love most is to be held and loved. I like being a baby when I am in your arms.

Lizzie is a high active beagle. She gets very attached to her person(s) and does not want them to be out of her sight. Lizzie is used to sleeping on the master bed. She knows how to use a doggie door and is housetrained for the most part, she is still having occasional pee accidents. Lizzie does not really know any basic commands, but is learning 'sit' very nicely.

This girl is an escape artist and will bolt out the door, go through a thin opening in a fence, and climbs chainlink fences with no problem so she needs a secure home. She is a very friendly girl, very loving. She enjoys being in your arms and you rub her face and neck. She thoroughly enjoys looking in the refrigerator and basically likes all kitchen activities. Lizzie is a climber, she will get on your table if you leave your seat out, so she is a handy way of teaching people to push in their chairs when they leave the table.

Lizzie loves to go for rides in the car and thinks people watching is just the best! She will try to get out the car door/window though, so she should always be harnessed. A harness should always be used on Lizzie when she goes for walks, as well.

Lizzie is extremely unhappy if put in a crate and goes a bit 'bonkers' if put in one.

In the evening, Lizzie enjoys playing with other dogs and/or sitting in your lap while you pet her. Lizzie would do great in a home with another playful dog. Lizzie learns by example. She watches other dogs with toys and then learns how to play with them, she evidently had no toys during her puppyhood, but she is still a very happy dog. Lizzie is not destructive, at all. She also does not dig holes in the yard (yet).
