(aka the NEXT Big DAY!)
Pups 6 month update

March 5, 2006
I am very smart. I know this cause my foster mom always tells the truth and she told me as well as my foster grandma that I am 'very smart'.

I spent an hour outside with Pirate, Bungee and T-T (aka T-Bone) this morning, before Pirate left (more on that later). I noticed my foster mom was trying to keep the little ones away from the 'big' dogs, Buddy and Gunner. I watched my foster mom carefully and then when I saw one of the pups going toward the 'big' dogs, I jumped on my puppy and distracted her (or him).

Also, my foster mom did not want the pups coming inside through the doggy door. I was inside and the babes wanted to come in, too. But, by then, the big dogs were inside, so my foster mom held the doggy door flap down - to prevent the pups from pushing through. I was watching. My foster mom said to me, "Honey, I don't want the puppies to come in right now." So, when the next pup stuck his/her head through that flap I put my paw on the pups head and pushed the puppy back outside, just like I saw my foster mom do. I did this a few times, but it was tiring so, eventually, I went outside with the pups again until they were allowed to come back in for their 10 o'clock nap.

When Pirate left today
I was not as upset as I was yesterday. I could smell a cat in the front yard when we walked Pirate to his new car. That smell was very interesting. Then, I was given a biscuit from the car, and that was quite nice! Pirate has a momma and a dad and he also has a human brother, Derek. Derek is very nice with Pirate, very gentle and loving. Derek also paid good attention to his mom and dad. I think that Pirate is going to have a very happy time in his new home. Bye, bye little Pie-Pie.

I spent my last night in foster with my two little girls. We played so hard they fell asleep on me.

Today I go to my HOME!!

I BELONG!!!

I am important to someone, I am a pet!!

HOOORAAAYYY! Wow, it has been quite an adventure but now I get to settle in and become a family member. My mom is picking me up this afternoon. I get to go in the car!! YAAAYYY.

I don't think that Bungee and 'T-T' really understand,

but when they go to their new homes they will 'get it' and all will be well. The eight of us are lucky
pups.

My foster mom says she is now going to try to get the anti-snake fence installed to protect the next batch of baby cardinals that will probably be born this year. Here is a link to last year's cardinal episode

My foster mom took one last photo of me, a good bye photo. As you can see, I only had eyes for my new mom, I love her and she loves me. Life is so good.

Good Bye, everyone! I loved the emails and comments that you sent to Ziggy Beagle Rescue. I am so glad you all enjoyed my experience. I am off now, focused on my new home, my new family, my whole new life. Thanks for everything to everyone who helped me and my babies.
Forever grateful,
Love,
Honey Kayle.
