| Goldie came to us the day before Thanksgiving and she is Oh so Thankful!
| ||
![]() | Goldie is 9 months old, she is spayed, UTD on all her vaccines and is ready to join the right family. Goldie has plenty of puppy energy, is outgoing, friendly, good with kids, cats and dogs. | |
| Goldie comes from a home that kept her chained to her dog house in the back yard. | ![]() |
![]() | Goldie was unhappy all alone, and so she barked a lot. Since being in foster Goldie has not exhibited much barking at all. |
| Goldie is not fully house trained, due to being outside most of her young life. She has a doggie door to the backyard in her foster home and she uses it most of the time. Her last known 'accident' was Dec 7th. | ![]() |
When left alone, Goldie is put in a 24" wide, 36" long, 27" high wire crate with water and a toy and a dog bed on the bottom. She has never spent more than 2.5 hours like that. She goes into the crate very nicely. The crate is the type that is like a cage on all sides. She is in an area with the other dogs.
Because Goldie is adventurous and likes to investigate (and sometimes chew) we put Goldie in a very large travel carrier (same size as wire crate), at night. She is in there from midnight to 8 a.m. and never makes a complaint. The carrier is next to the bed in the master bedroom, the opening of the carrier facing the bed, so she is surrounded by all the other dogs and her foster mom.

Goldie spends most of her day running and playing with one of the other foster dogs, Elvis.
Goldie goes for two walks a day for exercise, but is not yet fully leash trained. It is easier to walk Goldie with a harness rather than on her collar. Goldie is used to using the backyard (via a doggy door) to relieve herself.
Goldie is fed twice a day for a total of 1 1/2 cups of Flint River Ranch high quality dog food.
When we place our dogs, we are looking for good homes. We do not use the environment they came from as a benchmark, most homes would be better than what Goldie had in the past. We are looking for more than better, we are looking for good.
